SBA 7(a) Loan Calculator
SBA 7(a)

United States only. These are US federal program under SOP 50 10 8, priced off two different US benchmarks: SBA 7(a) and Express track the WSJ Prime Rate plus a spread, while the 504 debenture prices off US Treasury yields when it sells, not when you sign.

Tax, Caps, fees, eligibility and the Section 179 limits all come from US statute and change with it. Outside the US the arithmetic still holds; the program, benchmarks and limits do not.

Current as of August 2026. Check the SOP before relying on a figure.
SBA 7(a) Loan Program

The most flexible SBA loan
for business acquisition

The SBA 7(a) is the U.S. Small Business Administration's flagship loan program -- and the most common financing vehicle for buying a business. This calculator models every variable a lender will underwrite: Prime-plus rate, note maturity vs. amortization period, balloon payment, DSCR against your EBITDA, SBA guarantee fee, and full amortization schedule.

✓
Prime-based rate modeling — Set the current Prime Rate and lender spread separately, or enter a fixed rate directly. The calculator shows how rate changes move your monthly payment and total interest cost.
✓
Note maturity vs. amortization period — SBA 7(a) loans can have a shorter note maturity than the amortization period -- creating a balloon payment at maturity. Model both and see your balloon amount.
✓
DSCR analysis — Enter your business EBITDA (or SDE) and existing debt service. The calculator computes your Debt Service Coverage Ratio and flags whether it meets the SBA 1.25x minimum.
✓
SBA guarantee fee — Model the upfront SBA guarantee fee (charged on the guaranteed portion), annual guarantee fee, and origination fee to see true all-in cost of borrowing.
✓
Full amortization schedule — View a month-by-month or year-by-year amortization table showing principal, interest, and remaining balance for the life of the loan.
✓
Side-by-side term comparison — Compare two different loan structures -- different terms, rates, or amortization periods -- side by side to find the optimal structure before you apply.
